Niniejsza praca prezentuje analizę porównawczą wybranych fragmentów O stworzeniu świata Filona z Aleksandrii i dzieł starożytnych Egipcjan, w szczególności opowieści kosmogonicznych. Badania przeprowadzone zostały w perspektywie Nowego Historycyzmu, z uwzględnieniem szczegółowych informacji o kontekście historyczno-społecznym, w którym powstawały dzieła Filona. Rozważania te stanowią próbę zapełnienia luki, jaka powstała w wiedzy o historii myśli na skutek konsekwentnego pomijania tradycji egipskiej i jej związków z filozofią. Wobec tego zostały w niej wskazane wątki, które, jak można przypuszczać, łączą filozofię Filona Aleksandryjskiego z refleksją rzekomo niefilozoficzną, rozwijaną na terenach dawnego państwa faraonów.
